Ridgewood Suburb Research
About Ridgewood
Wanneroo City's suburb of Ridgewood is situated 35 kilometres from Ridgewood CBD. It grew into a fully developed suburb, coming from its origins as a private estate within another suburb called Merriwa. Housing in Ridgewood is fairly new, only between 5-10 years old.

The suburb's name is derived from the wooded terrain on the coastal plain. Wanneroo's population has a cross-section of ethnicities, from Chinese and Vietnamese descent to Italian and Macedonian origins. Majority, however, of the residents were born in the United Kingdom. It is one of the fastest growing local government areas in Australia.

Being small community, Ridgewood shares facilities and services with Merriwa and Clarkson, its nearest neighbours. It is only a 5-minute drive to Clarkson's railway station and Ocean Keys Shopping Center. Residents get public internet access in the library and main supermarket in Clarkson. The beaches of Quinns Rocks are also well within a stone's throw. Ridgewood has a large area dedicated to parkland around the lake and its own petrol station.

There are no local academic centers within Ridgewood. Thus, children attend school in nearby Clarkson, Kinross and Mindarie. They have a choice from Clarkson Primary School, St. Andrew's Catholic Primary School, Clarkson South Primary School, Clarkson Community High School, Kinross Primary School, Peter Moyes Anglican Community School and Mindarie Primary School.

Ridgewood is bordered by Lukin Drive to the north, Hester Avenue to the south, Mitchell Freeway to the east and Connolly Drive to the west. Other Ridgewood suburbs surrounding Ridgewood are Nowergup and Butler.
